Jan Hillis, B.S., M.A.

Mrs. Jan Hillis is from East Lansing, Michigan. She received her dental hygiene degree from the University of Minnesota in 1970. She graduated with a BS in Education in 1984 from the University of Houston and a MA in Education in 1991 from the University of South Florida. Jan has initiated a dental assisting program in Texas and dental hygiene programs in Florida and Iowa. She has been the director of 5 dental auxilary programs since she began teaching in 1980. In 1986 she taught at two universities in the Republic of South Korea. Mrs. Hillis conducts CE courses on Dental Ergonomics. She is currently the Chair of the DH Program and an Associate Professor of Periodontics.
 

Lisa Kucera, R.D.H., B.S.

Lisa is a native Nebraskan with over 22 years of clinical dental hygiene experience.  She received her associate degree in Dental Hygiene from Central Community College, Hastings, Nebraska in 1983.  She completed her bachelor’s degree in 1991 from University of Nebraska at Omaha.  Mrs. Kucera has been with Iowa Western Community College since the fall 1999 as clinical faculty and in the fall of 2005 her position changed to include didactic instruction along with clinic. 

Dorothy J. Polan, B.S., R.D.H.

Dorothy Polan is a native Omahan with over twenty years of clinical dental hygiene experience. She started her dental hygiene education at the University of Nebraska Omaha and completed in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, College of Dentistry in Lincoln, Nebraska. Dorothy continued her education by taking over 30 hours of business at the University of Nebraska Omaha. Ms. Polan has been with the Iowa Western Community College since the beginning of the Dental Hygiene program in 1998. Initially Dorothy's role was as an adjunct clinical instructor and she is currently a full time faculty member at Iowa Western Community College. Her position includes both clinical and didactic instruction. To further enhance her teaching abilities Dorothy completed the Community College Induction Mentoring program through Iowa State University.
