1 Fixed mandibular bonded
retainer.
Unilateral posterior crossbite corrected with a quad-helix appliance. Third slide
demonstrates approximate activation of appliance. Fourth slide shows "grooves"
in patient's tongue from the appliance.
Unilateral posterior crossbite with crossbite of maxillary permanent lateral incisors. The
patient's primary cuspids were extracted to create space for #7 and #10, a 2 X 4 fixed
maxillary appliance was used to correct #7 and #10, and a quad helix appliance was used to
correct the posterior crossbite.
Class I, moderate crowding, with lingually positioned incisors and retrusive profile;
corrected by non-extraction orthodontics.
Class I (II tendency), mild crowding, deep bite, with impacted maxillary canine. Ceramic
maxillary anterior brackets. Ceramic brackets must be used with caution due to the
potential wear of enamel in opposing teeth.
A rather unusual retainer made by a lab as a joke.
Enamel decalcification due to poor oral hygiene during orthodontic treatment.
Band seating sequence: 1: select tight band size 2: use band seater with finger pressure
or have patient bite on the instrument... BE CAREFUL! 3: band seats beneath marginal ridge
4: adapt band with adaptation instrument 5: band removing plier.
